Staff Introduction... Kathryn Smith

Hi everyone!

My name is Kathryn Smith and I am new to staff as the clothes closet coordinator at BigHouse Foundation. I am from Atlanta, GA originally and am a city girl at heart. I recently graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Psychology. I am hoping to get my masters in social work and work as a therapist with kids who are in foster care.

Working at BigHouse is by far the most rewarding job that I have ever had. Through the support of the community I am able to provide the best resources possible to families who are in need. The BigHouse families are some of my heroes. The way that they have sacrificed their time and resources to care for and love these children is an inspiration to me. Their commitment to providing a safe home for those in need is a picture of how Jesus shows His unconditional love and acceptance to me. The way that these parents advocate and fight for these kids is also a picture to me of how Jesus stood in my place to protect me and give me eternal hope. Loving much takes much sacrifice and heartache. I have seen this even more clearly through hearing the stories of the BigHouse families. I am so honored for the opportunity to be a small part of these kids lives whether they ever know my name or not.
