In May of 2020, BigHouse launched our first ever BigHouse Hustle. We set a goal to find 30 friends who would join us to complete a monthly movement challenge, logging 31, 65 or 100 miles over the course of 31 days. We promised each participant a t-shirt and some encouragement from through a private BH Hustle facebook group. In the course of one week, we had 555 participants join our hustle and recruited 9 sponsors to offset our t-shirt costs. Through our hustlers and sponsors, BigHouse raised over $23,000 in 31 days! We had over 40,000 miles logged in 22 states! The Hustle ended up being WAY BIGGER and way better than we originally planned.
We polled our participants and had a great response that a twice a year Hustle would be a nice fit for everyone’s schedules. We launched our second BH Hustle in November of 2020! The November Hustle was a HUGE success with 650+ participants and raised over $28,000!
BigHouse serves foster and adoptive families so it is fitting that we hustle during May and November, National Foster Care and National Adoption month, respectively. We will use our BH Hustle platform to create an encouraging community that advocates for children in foster care and those who have been adopted out of care!
