We collect new toys for birthday presents for the children in Lee County's foster care system. We send them a birthday card with a token to pick out a toy or gift card for their birthday. We want our kids to feel special on their birthday. This is their special day and no one can take that away from them. Special thanks to Gigi's Cupcakes and TCBY for partnering with us to provide treat coupons!

Our Clothes Closet is our first and largest program, providing over 4,000 new and gently used clothing items to kids and teens in foster care each year.

BigHouse is the connecting agency between the Food Bank of East Alabama and traditional foster families in Lee County. This is a great resource for foster families and we encourage anyone who is eligible to participate.

BigHouse provides monthly respite events to give foster parents a break! Whether they need to run errands, have a date night with their spouse, or just have some down-time, having a few hours without the kids can refresh parents and help them deal with the stress of foster parenting. While the parents are gone, kids enjoy food and fun with our staff and volunteers.

Once a month we host a dinner at a local restaurant for our BigHouse moms. We've had anywhere from 8 - 18 attendees at these events, and it's always a great time together!

When a child enters foster care, often they have very few personal belongings. BigHouse provides personal care items such as toothbrush/toothpaste, diapers, new socks and underwear, new pajamas, a new duffel bag, new toys, a Bible, and other items as needed.
