They were married in 2006 and after being personally involved in foster care through Micah's parents decision to be foster parents, founded BigHouse in February of 2009. After graduating from college in May 2009, they returned to Opelika. They have two children, Anderson and Maggie.

 

Micah graduated from the University of Alabama with a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Development and Digital Media in May of 2009. Micah serves as the executive director of BigHouse and enjoys making connections in the community to serve foster families in various ways. Outside of BigHouse, Micah likes to craft, plan trips, and spend time with her family.

Blake studied engineering as a student at the University of Alabama where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Master of Science degree in Engineering Science and Mechanics. In May of 2015 Blake completed his PhD in Aerospace Engineering at Auburn University and now teaches several engineering courses at Auburn. Blake is passionate about BigHouse and has a knack for creating short videos to promote the work BigHouse does.

IMG 8009Originally from Opelika, Tatum graduated from Troy University in May 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Services and a Minor in Case Management. She developed a love for non-profit ministries during her time at Troy University and is excited to serve the foster families in our community. Tatum is engaged to Will Black and the two will be married in March 2017. Tatum and Will love to spend time with their family and friends, travel, and spend time outside.
